About Us

STRENNA

“The dream that makes you dream”. A heart that transforms “wolves” into “lambs”

2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the first missionary expedition, sent by Don Bosco to Argentina. 2025 will therefore be an extraordinary year.

Strenna for 2025 must have “HOPE” at its core, and the path that we will follow with the young. This justifies the title “Anchored in hope, pilgrims with young people.”

Why 2025 is Special
Jubilee Year of Hope declared by the Holy Father.
150th Anniversary of Don Bosco’s First Missionary Journey to Argentina.
A global invitation to journey together in faith and renewal.

Anchored in Hope - “Jesus Christ… is our hope.” — 1 Timothy 1:1
Hope lifts us beyond fear, uncertainty and doubt.
In a world often weighed down by discouragement, Christian hope is our anchor.
Hope is not optimism alone – it is a firm trust in God's love.

Pilgrims on a Journey - “Nothing can separate us from the love of God.” — Romans 8:35, 37
The pilgrimage of life invites us to leave our comfort zones.
In 2025, we walk with young people, towards a deeper encounter with Christ.
Pilgrimage is both outward and inward – a call to silence, courage, and faith.

Hope Through the Eyes of the Young - “Young people have the right to dream of a better tomorrow.”
Don Bosco believed in the power of young dreams.
Today’s youth dream of peace, justice, education, purpose.
We, as mentors and companions, must encourage their dreams and walk with them.

Mission in 2025
Walk with young people as fellow pilgrims of hope.
Teach them to hope, believe, and love with authenticity.
Nourish their faith and dreams by example and encouragement.

History

Many years ago, way back in the 70’s a little chapel was built within the school premises on the mud roads of Vazira Naka. The chapel was there to fulfill the spiritual needs of the students and the few Catholics that stayed around the locality. The place was christened – St. John Bosco Chapel and was Canonically erected in 1972.

We were no more just a chapel but a Church. Our community was overjoyed when the Bombay Arch Diocese officially recognized us as ‘St. John Bosco Parish’ in the year 2001.

In the name of our Patron Saint St. John Bosco, It is our pleasure to welcome you to our website.
